Dylan Ruddy is the new Editor of bikesales.com.au.
Ruddy, 28, replaces Mark ‘Mav’ Fattore, who is departing bikesales.com.au after an 11-year stint at the helm.
A former Australasian Dirt Bike (ADB) staffer, Dylan has been riding motorcycles since he was five years old, and has fond memories of tearing around his family property in the Victorian bush on a Honda XR80.
He then rose through the capacity ranks, riding all sorts of machinery – from plush trail bikes to competition-focused European exotica.
After completing a digital and film degree at Deakin University in Melbourne, Dylan then landed his dream job as a staff writer at ADB.
Following a six-year tenure at ADB, Dylan has now joined bikesales.com.au to expand his motorcycle CV into riding, reviewing and talking about the full gamut of powered two-wheelers.

“I’m delighted to be joining bikesales.com.au,” said Ruddy.
“It’s a website I’m already familiar with thanks to hundreds of hours poring over the bikes in the classifieds section. To now get the opportunity to shape the editorial content is something I’m very much looking forward to.
“I’m also looking forward to sinking my teeth into some of the ‘big ticket’ items include the bikesales.com.au Bike of the Year awards.”
Mike Sinclair, carsales Director of Content and Editor in Chief welcomed Ruddy.
“Dylan brings a lot of enthusiasm to his new role. We’re excited about adding his dirt bike expertise to the bikesales mix.
“We’re also pleased that Mark’s experience won’t be lost to bikesales as he’s accepted the badge as our Editor Emeritus,” Sinclair added.
“Mark’s legacy is the strength of bikesales – clearly Australia’s number one motorcycle online resource. We won’t be seeing him every day, but we know where he’s going!” he joked.
Indeed, Mark’s departing bikesales.com.au to becoming publican and new owner of the Elphinstone Hotel, near Castlemaine (Vic).
Of course, it will be motorcycle-friendly… And it will likely become bikesales’ favourite branch office…
Pop in to Wright Street, Elphinstone and say hello if you’re in the area.
