The boxer-powered BMW R 1250 R has been updated for 2023, with new features and equipment that gives it more functionality than ever before.
At the top of the list, the new 2023 BMW R 1250 R boasts LED turn indicators and daytime running lights as standard, as well as an optional new solo rear setup along with optional spoked wheels.
The bike also now features the Comfort Package as standard in Australia, with keyless ignition, chrome exhaust headers, a silencer, heated grips and tyre pressure monitoring all included.
Elsewhere, the bike also has automatic stability control, ABS Pro, dynamic traction control, dynamic brake control, a 6.5-inch colour TFT screen with Bluetooth, three riding modes and hill start control.
That is on top of the 1254cc flat-twin boxer engine with ShiftCam that puts out 136hp (100kW) at 7750rpm and 143Nm at 6250rpm. The bike is also fitted with cast aluminium wheels, adjustable suspension, a 12V socket and USB port, and a steering stabiliser.
The new BMW R 1250 R will arrive in Australia early in 2023, with pricing starting from $21,620 plus on-road costs. The base model will feature the aforementioned Comfort Package, as well as a dual seat and the Ice Grey colour scheme.
BMW will also offer a wide range of options from the dealer floors, with the Touring Package ($1785) including navigation, cruise control, a centre stand, pannier mounts and seat heating, and the Dynamic Package ($2915) including MSR brake control, Dynamic ESA, a quickshifter, extra ride modes, adaptive lighting and an engine spoiler.
Customers can also purchase the BMW R 1250 R Sport for $26,490 (plus on-road costs), which comes with the Comfort Package, the Dynamic Package, cruise control, a sport silencer and sport styling. And the BMW R 1250 R Triple Black ($25,490 plus ORC) adds Triple Black styling.
