The all-conquering Yamaha YZ450F has been overhauled for 2023, with a completely reworked engine and chassis that results in a lighter, more compact, and more powerful package.
With recent championships in both AMA Pro Motocross and AMA Supercross, the popular motocross machine is proven on the world stage, but the 2023 Yamaha YZ450F is designed to take the platform even further in the pursuit of world domination.
At the top of the list is a completely redesigned engine that features new exhaust and intake port shapes, larger diameter titanium intake valves, a new piston, cylinder, crankshaft and balancer assembly, and a switch from wet sump to dry sump lubrication.

Combined, these changes are designed to help create a lighter, more compact engine with more power across the entire rev range, while still maintain great pulling power and ease-of-use.
Also new is the aluminium bilateral beam frame which has been redesigned with the correct amount of strength and flex for better stability and cornering performance. The entire bike is also slimmer and flatter, making for a more compact and user-friendly package.
Elsewhere, there is a new compact lightweight clutch, a new five-speed transmission, a new air intake, and revised KYB suspension with tool-less fork adjustment.
In the tech department, there is a new three-setting traction control system, updated launch control, and a revised Yamaha Power Tuner App.
Features carried over from the previous model include strong, lightweight spoked wheels, a high performance Nissin brake system, a triple clamp with adjustable handlebar mounts, and plenty of race-inspired styling.
The 2023 Yamaha YZ450F will be available from December in ‘Team Yamaha Blue’ and will check in with a price tag of $14,499 ride away.
