After word of MV Agusta's Brutale 675 naked bike first appeared in early April of last year, MV's Australian distributor -- MV Agusta Imports -- has confirmed the streetfighter will be arriving in Australian dealer showrooms in September, 2012 and will be priced at $14,990 (rideaway).
MV Agusta says the new model is powered by the most advanced engine ever seen in the middleweight motorcycle class, the ultra-compact 675cc, liquid-cooled and fuel-injected triple said to be good for a claimed 113hp (84.5kW)) at 12,500rpm and 71Nm at 10,600rpm.
The bike features advanced electronics such as MV's MVICS (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System), which it says combines the Brutale's ride-by-wire throttle system with multiple engine maps and eight-stage traction control.
The engine sits within a tubular-steel chassis suspended by a 43mm upside-down fork and a Sachs rear monoshock, the latter adjustable for preload. The 812mm seat height should prove manageable for most, as will the bike's trim weight -- a claimed 163kg (dry). Slowing the show shouldn't prove any issue for the bike's twin-disc, radial-mount, four-piston-caliper Brembo front brakes.
The Brutale 675 goes on sale in September and will be available in Red/Silver, Pearl White/Matt Gold or Matt Magno Grey/Matt Anthracite paint schemes, while the model is also available with MV's Electroncially Assisted Shift (EAS) for $15,490 (rideaway).
The model's prime competitor, Triumph's Street Triple, is priced at $12,490, although until Septebmer 31, 2012 buyers can take advantage of a promotional sale price of $11,815, while also claiming a Triumph leather jacket to the value of $675 at no extra cost.
