Australian MV Agusta importer and distributor, Urban Moto Imports, says it's hopeful the MV Agusta Superveloce 800 will reach local showrooms before the close of 2020.
The striking new 'neo-classic' model, which retails in Australia for $32,990 ride away, had been slated to arrive in September, but has been delayed due to the temporary closure of MV Agusta's Schiranna production plant in Italy during the height of that nation's COVID-19 crisis.
Now, with the production lines rolling once more, the company is steadily working towards supplying the Superveloce 800 and indeed the wider MV Agusta range to the many markets in which the brand has a presence around the world.
"Due to the delay in manufacturing caused by the COVID-19 factory closure (now up and running again), it [the MV Agusta Superveloce 800] is not expected until towards the end of the year," an Urban Moto Imports spokesperson told bikesales.
The spokesperson said interest in the Superveloce 800 had been strong, with dealers taking pre-orders for the model in recent months.

First unveiled at the 2019 EICMA motorcycle expo in Milan, Italy, MV Agusta describes the Superveloce 800 as "a celebration of the brand's glorious sporting history with a modern twist".
Powered by MV Agusta's 798cc in-line three-cylinder engine, the MV Agusta Superveloce 800 is said to produce 148hp at 13,000rpm and 88Nm at 10,600rpm, in a package tipping the scales at 173kg dry.
The MV Agusta Superveloce 800 adopts an ALS tubular steel trellis frame and rides on an inverted 43mm Marzocchi fork up front and a Sachs monoshock at the rear, with full (manual) adjustment at each end.
The triple is mated to a six-speed gearbox and a Brembo braking package, the latter equipped with Bosch 9+ ABS.
Other notable features include a choice of four ride modes and eight traction control settings, a slipper clutch, a bi-directional quickshifter, a 5.0-inch colour TFT instrument display with Bluetooth connectivity, and sporty Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II tyres.
MV Agusta says the Superveloce 800 is capable of a top speed of 240km/h.
It's certainly one very distinctive model, and one that blends cutting-edge motorcycle engineering with a strong retro appeal. Add in a large dose of that inimitable MV Agusta design flair, and performance, and we're itching to throw a leg over it.
