MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Ago celebrates racing icon

Champion motorcycle racer Giacomo Agostini is the inspiration behind a new special edition model from MV Agusta

MV Agusta is paying tribute to legendary racer Giacomo Agostini with a special limited-edition Superveloce 1000.

The 2025 MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Ago will be limited to just 83 units – a nod to Agostini’s 83rd birthday that he’ll celebrate this year.

Each unit is personally signed by Agostini and features a real gold plate affixed to the steering head bearing the individual unit number. Uniquely, each unit also comes with an ignition key made from a trophy won by Agostini during his career.

While the fundamentals of the Superveloce 1000 remain the same, the Ago edition adds a bunch of premium components and details that reference Agostini’s career.

The bike boasts full carbon fibre bodywork and a special paint scheme, including a number 1 on a yellow background. A CNC-machined headlight crown features the same yellow accent, while the wheels are spoked in an elegant silver colour.

There is also a leather strap over the fuel tank that bears a gold plaque reading “15 Titoli Mondiali” as a reference to Agostini’s 15 world titles, while a black Alcantara seat is embroidered with Agostini’s name.

Under the bodywork is a 208hp inline four-cylinder engine matched to a steel trellis frame and aluminium single-sided swingarm, while suspension and braking is handled by Ohlins and Brembo respectively.

Electronics include semi-active suspension, adjustable traction control and ABS, multiple ride modes, front wheel lift control, smartphone tuning, and an integrated GPS module. And that’s just scraping the surface.

The lucky 83 customers will have access to buy a made-to-measure Dainese Custom Works Demone GP 3X race suit and an AGV Pista GP RR helmet that match the bike.

With MV Agusta currently going through a divorce from KTM, it's not clear if any units will be made available to Australia, but expect the 83 examples to be snapped up quickly.
