As of February 1 this year, Melbourne-based MV Agusta Imports Pty Ltd became the exclusive Australia-wide distributor for MV Agusta.
The company is run by director James Deutsher, who comes from a contemporary art and design background, and manager Kevin Beale, a long-time senior industry player who has previously worked with other motorcycle manufacturers including BMW Motorrad and Kawasaki.
“MV’s exceptional combination of trend-setting style with leading-edge technology is what holds much of the appeal for us,” says Deutsher.
“Australia has always been a keen consumer of exotica, and we’re determined to see this historic brand re-established here.
“We are very excited about this new agreement as we are aware that from now onwards.”
A national dealership network is being finalised and MV Agusta Imports Pty Ltd is expecting its first shipments of bikes to start being dispatched to the dealers in March.
Those bikes will be the F4 with a ride away retail price of $25,800, the Brutale 1090 ($20,800) and Brutale 1078 ($17,800).
Several dealerships have also signed up, including Trooper Lu’s Garage in Moorebank (NSW), Central Coast Motorcycles in Gosford (NSW), and the Peter Stevens Motorcycles stores in Melbourne and Adelaide.
Meanwhile, the recently announced F3 Supersport machine (pictured) is not expected to go on sale in Europe until the end of 2011, so we are likely to see the bike in Australia sometime after that.
MV Agusta Imports Pty Ltd’s registered office is in the inner Melbourne suburb of Richmond, and its warehouse is in Keilor Park.
In mid-2010, the Queensland-based Paul Feeney Group severed its long-term relationship with MV Agusta, and since then the iconic Italian brand has been without an official distributor in Australia.
