Italian manufacturer MV Agusta has released full details of its ultra-exclusive 2020 MV Agusta Rush 1000, a premium high-performance naked bike it says is capable of speeds in excess of 300km/h.
Just 300 examples of the 'dragstrip-inspired' rocket will be produced, with the model lavished with high-end finishes and materials and boasting cutting-edge technology.
Production of the 2020 MV Agusta Rush 1000 will begin in June, with the first bikes to roll off the production line at MV's Lake Varese facility towards the end of the same month.
The bike is powered by a storming 998cc liquid-cooled, 16-valve, DOHC, inline four-cylinder engine. Running a high 13.4:1 compression ratio, MV Agusta says the bike produces a heady 208hp (153kW) at 13,000rpm and 116.5Nm at 11,000rpm – and up to 212hp with an optional Racing Kit.
MV Agusta says it's drawn on both Formula 1 and MotoGP technology to create the 2020 MV Agusta Rush 1000, stating the bike offers "a thrilling out-of-this-world riding experience with hair-raising true MotoGP replica performance".
With over 200hp, a dry weight of 186kg and a tiny 1415mm wheelbase, we think "hair-raising" is probably pretty close to the mark…
Fortunately the Rush also has an eight-level traction control system, launch control and wheelie control. Other features include a bi-directional quickshifter and an aerodynamic rear wheel cover, the latter helping reduce the missile's drag coefficient to an absolute minimum.
With an aluminium and steel trellis frame, the MV Agusta Rush 1000 rides on Öhlins electronic suspension and high-performance Pirelli Diablo SuperCorsa SP rubber, while arresting the bike's velocity is down to Brembo Stylema brakes (and potentially the Bosch 9 Plus Race ABS package).

"The design of the Rush 1000 lives up to everything one would expect from an MV Agusta limited series, starting from the many unique details such as the specially designed headlight unit, spoked front wheel, the minimalist rear subframe and passenger seat as well as the unique side exit exhausts," says MV Agusta.
"The livery of the MV Agusta Rush 1000 is a pure statement of style and elegance, with Dark Metallic Matt Grey, Mamba Red Matt Carbon and Metallic Bronze."
For those few who want a little more from their 300km/h naked bike, an optional Rush Racing Kit adds a super-lightweight titanium dual-exhaust silencer with carbonfibre cover, a race-spec ECU, and a carbonfibre pillion seat cowl. The kit further reduces the bike's weight by 2kg.
"With the production of the Rush 1000 starting this coming June, we are right on track with respect to our five-year industrial plan we reaffirmed a few weeks ago," said Timur Sardarov, CEO of MV Agusta.
"As we are breaking new ground in our expansion journey into new segments and new markets, MV Agusta will continue to produce amazing works of exclusive motorcycle art from its headquarters in Italy, remaining true to its heritage of performance, elegance and state-of-the art technology.
"I am sure this incredibly attractive model will meet the enthusiasm of its proud new owners."
Actually, we might have been a little economical with the truth when we said MV Agusta had released "full details" of the Rush 1000. The company doesn't list a price for the model but, for the 300 individuals lucky enough to secure one, we're betting the dollars involved are a trifling matter.
Besides, if you're hanging on to a naked bike at 300km/h, you'll be focused on other, more immediate matters!
