MV Agusta F4RC launched in Melbourne

Only a small number will be coming to Australia, and all have been pre-sold to those after the premium sports bike experience

MV Agusta Australia is about to launch into a massive second half of the year, unveiling three new models at a gala function in Melbourne on July 28, including the new flagship F4RC 1000cc superbike. The function was held in conjunction with Mercedes-AMG, the auto performance organisation that recently purchased 25 percent of MV Agusta.

The limited-edition F4RC, of which only 250 will be made, is based on the F4RR but employs oodles more magnesium alloy to further reduce weight, as well as a carbon fibre fairing and 333 titanium bolts and screws. Further engine work has bumped power of the stock unit out to 205hp, and 212hp for the race-kitted version. Torque is 115Nm at 9300rpm.

A maximum of 15 F4RCs will be coming to Australia, priced at $55,880 plus on-road costs (ORC), while the mass-produced F4RR is $33,999 plus ORC. All the F4RCs have already been pre-sold.
MV Agusta Aussie boss Joe Elasmar also introduced another bike on the main stage, the Brutale Dragster 800 RR -- which had only just arrived in thecountry the day before! The wire-spoked machine is definitely a head turner, and with 140hp, 86Nm and a dry weight of 168kg there's a lot to like in the performance stakes.

Compared to the standard Dragster 800, the RR adds two injectors per cylinder, a bigger airbox, red anodised forks, and the aforementioned wheels. Price is $22,499 plus ORC for the Dragster RR, and $20,499 plus ORC for the Dragster 800.

A third bike was displayed in the foyer in the shape of the Turismo Veloce 800, which Bikesales recently rode at the world launch.

We'll also be riding the bike again at a local MV Agusta Australia launch in late August 2015, as well as the Dragsters, F3 800 and Stradale 800.  Keep an eye out for all those reviews.
