MV Agusta will compete in the 2014 Superbike World Championship in a team run by the Russian Yakhnich Motorsport operation.
The team will officially be known as ‘MV Agusta Reparto Corse - Yakhnich Motorsport’, and will field a two-rider team in WSBK, as well as one rider in world supersport. They will be utilising the F4 RR and F3 machines respectively.
Yakhnich Motorsport won the 2013 world supersport title with British rider Sam Lowes (pictured), who will now move onto Moto2 competition.
MV Agusta and Yakhnich Motorsport will also closely work together to build replica bikes for satellite teams which may decide to utilise the Italian machinery.
The riders for both classes will be announced shortly.
Meanwhile, Ducati’s restructured world superbike operation will race under the ‘Ducati Superbike Team’ banner in 32014, with the factory now collaborating with Feelracing.
The Ducati Superbike Team will come under the direct responsibility of Luigi Dall’Igna (Ducati Corse General Manager) and Paolo Ciabatti, in his role as Ducati Corse Sporting Director. Ernesto Marinelli is confirmed as Superbike Project Director with Serafino Foti assuming the role of Team Manager.
