MV Agusta Brutale 1000 Nürburgring breaks cover

MV’s latest special-edition streetfighter salutes Germany’s hallowed sanctuary of speed...

Following on from its recently updated Brutale 1000 RR, the Italian boutique bike builder has upped the ante yet again, revealing the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 Nürburgring.

Homage to motorsport history

A special edition of the brand’s streetfighter flagship, the new variant celebrates Germany’s historic road circuit and in particular its Nordschliefe (North Loop), a testing 20.8km loop that has witnessed myriad motorsport feats since its construction in the 1920s.

While the ‘standard’ MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR is already an epic machine in every sense, the Nürburgring edition builds on it with even lighter carbon rims developed in collaboration with BST, plus a racing kit with full titanium Arrow exhaust, a dedicated ECU and mapping, and various carbonfibre components, including the exhaust heat shield, a new headlight shroud, and a pillion seat cover. They add to a wide range of other carbon parts found throughout the bike.

Then there’s the striking metallic silver paint with red accents, capped off with exclusive Nürburgring graphics and a numbered plate on the right-hand air intake.

Storming triple

Powered by an inline triple, the racing kit bumps maximum claimed power from the 208hp at 13,000rpm of the Brutale 1000 RR to 215hp at 13,200rpm, while the weight savings afforded by the carbon wheels an components and titanium exhaust reduce the bike’s mass from 183kg (dry) to 177kg (dry).

There’s premium gear wherever you look, from the Öhlins fully adjustable electronic suspension and steering damper to the Brembo Stylema brakes to the TFT screen and comprehensive array of clever electronics and rider assistance systems.

Pricing? MV Agusta says the Brutale 1000 Nürburgring is priced in Europe from Euro 39,900 (approximately A$63,325), if indeed you’re lucky enough to snare yourself an example, with local pricing to be confirmed a little closer to its availability date (slated for the mid-way through the first quarter of 2022.
