
Along with the launch of the two bikes, MV Agusta will also be presenting the Reparto Corse team at Phillip Island, where it will be competing in the WSS and WSBK. The Supersport category promises to offer a thrilling battle for the world championship crown with current championship runner-up Jules Cluzel racing alongside Lorenzo Zanetti. While in Superbikes, the team will be placing its trust in Leon Camier on an all-new F4 RC (Reparto Corse).
Brutale 800 Dragster
MV Agusta says the Brutale 800 Dragster RR is made instantly recognisable by the sculptured geometry and spoked wheels. Thanks to the large rim channel and the generously dimensioned 200/50 rear tyre, the new Brutale 800 Dragster RR transforms power into acceleration, technology into pure riding pleasure. And like every MV Agusta, it's as attention-grabbing on the side-stand as it is on the move. Available in two colour schemes: metallic carbon black and pearl red, and pearl red and pearl white.
Power is quoted at 140hp while weight is just 168kg. With the new hydraulic tensioner the three-cylinder power unit is quiet and offers even greater reliability, we're told. The slipper clutch ensures enhanced and safer deceleration by preventing rear wheel lock.
Stradale 800
The new Stradale 800 combines the MV Agusta experience on various types of models to offer an original approach to riding. The chassis has been developed specifically for the Stradale 800. The ALS tubular steel structure with a mid-section consisting of aluminium alloy side plates has already been used on other MV Agusta models – but the frame on the Stradale 800 is entirely new, the manufacturer says.
The suspension consists of upside-down Marzocchi fork – adjustable in compression, rebound and spring pre-load – with 150mm of travel and a single-sided swingarm, connected to a fully adjustable monoshock, also with 150mm of travel. The 1460mm wheelbase has been extended by 30mm; and so the single-sided swingarm is also longer, improving traction. The riding position is new: the 870mm high seat (-10mm) makes the bike easier to handle
The fuel tank is now larger at 16 litres and panniers are standard.
The 798cc in-line three-cylinder engine was specially developed for this model. The maximum power and torque ratings are 115hp at 11,000rpm and 78.5Nm at 9000rpm.
Electronic MVICS (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) control is comprehensive: from the ride-by-wire accelerator to the Mikuni throttle bodies, knock control and the availability of four engine maps. The Stradale 800 offers specific logic and dedicated power and torque curves: the Sport map provides 115hp, maximising performance. The Normal map offers 90hp of power and a smoother throttle response, while Rain means safety first and foremost. ABS is also standard.
