MV Agusta and Cagiva riders in Australia could be in for a rough and lonely ride, with Peter Stevens Motorcycles (PS) rubbishing the assertion that it will now be the service and warranty provider in Australia following the decision by the Queensland-based Paul Feeney Group (PFG) to end its long association with the Italian brands.
In a media release last week, PFG stated that PS would be taking over the service and warranty role forthwith, but that has now been unequivocally rejected by PS in its own statement. It reads as follows:
"Peter Stevens Motorcycles is not the provider or supplier of product or warranty to the MV Cagiva brand for Australia in any other way than a retailer.
"Peter Stevens Motorcycles was disappointed to read the Paul Feeney Group Press Release that they have ceased operations as the MV Agusta and Cagiva distributor for Australia.
"Further we were surprised that PFG nominated Peter Stevens Motorcycles as the supplier of warranty to the MV Cagiva brand. This is incorrect."
With PS out of the mix, we now await the next chapter in what has the potential to become quite a messy business. Watch this space….
