If you thought that drifting was a motorsport populated solely by four-wheeled vehicles, you may need to take a seat. The land of the drift king is also populated by motorcycles, and the video below is a fine example of this.
Drifting a motorcycle -- the act of spinning the rear wheel while cornering to initiate power oversteer and create loads of tyre smoke in the process -- is not easily done, but Nick 'Apex' Brocha puts on an impressive show.
This clip from Icon Motosports is best explained by the title: Motorcycle vs. Car Drift Battle. We've seen several car vs bike tests on race tracks to see which is faster, but this is something else entirely, and it makes for a good distraction.
The motorcycle used to create tyre smoke while artistically navigating a corner is 2005 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, featuring a stretch swing arm. The car in question is a Mazda RX7 powered by a Corvette V8, and driven Jim Guthrie.
It's a high speed drift battle that doesn't disappoint, showing off some excellent slow motion sequences as two- and four-wheels vie for dominance in this spectacular motorsport. And look out for Nick Brocha sliding through a corner one-handed.
