Motorcycle technician: BMW Motorrad

An exciting full-time opportunity exists for a Technical Specialist within the Motorcycle (Motorrad) division of BMW Australia. For 90 years BMW Motorrad has built an enviable reputation for producing premium motorcycles and leads the industry in cutting edge technologies.

Reporting to the Aftersales Manager, this role is suited to a dedicated individual with mechanical (motorcycle) engineering trade qualifications and proven post apprenticeship industry experience in a technical role.  Qualifications or a sound grasp of electronics and systems in order to understand and work with PuMA; BMW MOSS diagnostic systems; EPC parts catalogue; RSD repair and service data is highly regarded.  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing technical solutions and support to the aftersales service segment of the Motorrad business and dealer network in Australia;
  • Working closely with the dealer network for the timely communication & resolution of technical, customer relations & warranty related issues;
  • Providing technical support at Motorrad events and in preparing/grounding Motorrad fleet motorcycles;
  • Managing priorities across the role’s technical support responsibilities which are both office and workshop based (approx 50:50 split).

This is a long-term fixed contract role which provides a great opportunity for any individual looking to implement their technical experience and knowledge within a professional environment.

The successful applicant will be able to work in a team environment that is often fast paced and challenging. The ability to liaise on a professional level with both internal and external stakeholders is an important part of this role. An interest in motorcycles and /or motorsports is essential and previous technical experience with BMW motorcycles an advantage.
