Motorcycle registrations continue to soar

And the two-wheeler segment is, by quite a margin, the fastest growing in the country, with 30,498 extra bikes registered in Australia over the last year alone
There are currently 709,288 motorcycle registered in Australia, according to the latest Motor Vehicle Census released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
That’s a 4.5 percent increase on the 2011 figure of 678,790, and a bull market-like 38.5 percent hike since 2007. That equates to an average annual increase of 7.7 percent, with light rigid trucks second on five4 percent.
The total number of vehicles registered in 2012 totalled 16.7 million, with passenger vehicles accounting for 12.7 million, followed by light commercial vehicles (2.6 million) and motorcycles (709,288).
