Motorcycle expo for central Victoria

Bendigo on October 3-4

Melbourne may be missing out in 2009, but Victorians won't be totally left out of the motorcycle expo scene with news that the major regional hub of Bendigo is planning to host its own event on October 3-4.

The Bendigo Motorcycle Expo will be held at the Prince of Wales Showgrounds' Exhibition Building, with plans to make it an annual event.

To be sponsored by Shannons,  the organisers are approaching all the major manufacturers about attending the event, although the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix Expo at Phillip Island will be held only two weeks later, which is always a big stretch on resources.

Accessories and trade stalls will form a big part of the Bendigo show, as well as displays of customised, drag and racebikes. Scooters will also feature.

Meanwhile, there won't be a motorcycle expo in Melbourne this year,  as it's going to start alternating with Sydney - a similar arrangement to the motor vehicle fraternity.

This year, it will be Sydney's turn to host the motorcycle show, with Melbourne returning in 2010.

BikePoint will keep you updated on the Bendigo Motorcycle Expo.
