Motorclassica, the annual event for rare and exotic, historic, vintage, veteran, classic and collectable cars and motorcycles, will be held from October 24-26 at the Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne.
“Excitement around Motorclassica 2014 is building all the time, and the entries are flooding in for what I am sure will be our best show yet," Paul Mathers, Motorclassica Event Director said. "Although we are only in our fifth year, what's gratifying is that the event has reach far beyond Melbourne… we are seeing significant visitor numbers from overseas and interstate, as Motorclassica has become the 'must do' event for the collector car and motorcycle community."
Motorclassica 2014 is expected to feature more than 100 cars and 50 motorcycles throughout the historic halls of the Royal Exhibition Building, and over 200 more each day in the surrounding grounds.
Celebrated marques this year will include Italian icon Maserati, whose 100th anniversary has prompted a special display of 20 incredible cars telling its story.
Fifty years of Ford's most successful and globally recognised car, the Mustang, will also be celebrated with an array of models right up to the present day.
Recognising one of motoring's most historical achievements 50 years ago, Motorclassica will also pay homage to Donald Campbell's dual world land and water speed records set in Australia in the Bluebird CN7 and K7.
"We have sourced some display pieces, memorabilia and film footage of truly historic significance from around the world, as tribute to Donald Campbell and Bluebird, and we also plan to make some very exciting announcements around this celebration later in the year," Mathers said.
Motorclassica will kick off on the Thursday morning with the annual Tour Classica, which will see selected entrants drive through the streets of Melbourne's CBD prior to taking up residence at the Royal Exhibition Building.
