Motoracing: X-Fighters finale in London

Maddison still a chance to win

Australia’s Robbie Maddison recently conquered London’s Tower Bridge
in a 2.00am hit and run mission, and this weekend he will be back in the British capital for the final round of the 2009 Red Bull X-Fighters.

After four rounds in Mexico City, Calgary, Texas and Madrid, the final of X-Fighters will take place at London’s Battersea Power Station, where Maddo will go head-to-head with 11 other riders.

This year’s title will go down ton the wire, with Maddison currently in third place, behind American Nate Adams and Japan’s Eigo Sato. Defending champion Mat Rebeaud, who’s in fourth, could also still retain the title if results go his way.

“I’m really looking forward to the Red Bull X-Fighters finals this year, particularly as the competition over the last rounds has been fierce,” said Maddison.

“I’m now just focused on improving my position and hopefully scoring a second or even a first place win this time.”

“Maddo” will be the only Aussie rider this weekend, after Cam Sinclair’s horrendous crash at the last round in Madrid.
