The 2020 MotoGP World Championship calendar has been altered as the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation continues to wreak havoc on travel and major events.
The FIM, IRTA and Dorna Sports announced the postponement of the Argentina Grand Prix, which was due to take place from April 17-19. The event will now take place from November 20-22.
The Valencia Grand Prix has also be moved to November 27-29. This follows the previous rescheduling of the Grand Prix of the Americas and the Thai Grand Prix. Those races will now take place from November 13-15 and October 2-4 respectively.
The 2020 MotoGP class season will now begin at the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez from May 1-3. The Moto2 and Moto3 classes raced at Qatar, despite the cancellation of premier class racing.
As the COVID-19 crisis continues to develop, there will likely be more reshuffling of the calendar and even some cancellations.
Dates for the end-of-season testing at Valencia and Jerez will be decided once the season begins.
