Visit the Moriwaki website and you'll find the sort of motorcycle accessories for Japanese sports bikes that makes most grown men salivate. Functional exhaust systems that look amazing, carbon fibre body panels, and more bespoke racing equipment than you poke an expansion chamber at.
Which leads us to the company's 2012 Moto2 entrant, a 600cc machine that is very easy on the eye.
The 2012 Moriwaki MD600 is like all Moto2 bikes, powered by a Honda CBR600RR four-cylinder engine, but it's the chassis that makes all the difference. And if performance was based on looks, this bad boy would on the podium every race meet.
This particular Moriwaki MD600 is ridden by Damien Cudlin and Elena Rosell (the only woman racing in Moto2) for the QMFF team and along with the custom made frame and titanium exhaust, there's enough carbon fibre to cover a football field. Well, maybe...
The 2012 season is shaping up to be an intriguing for all three categories - MotoGP, Moto2 and of course the now four-stroke 250cc Moto3 class.
Hold on to your hats, because it all kicks off on April 6 in Qatar.
Oh, and check out Moriwaki.co.jp/global/ for more details on what Moriwaki Engineering does.
