Moto Martini Honda XL custom

Based on a 1980s dual-sport motorcycle, this Honda XL600 would attract attention to any shop front, such is the high level of attention to detail

There are custom bikes and then there are custom bikes, and this Honda XL600 creation is a stubby little customer that is sure to get the juices flowing.

Created by Mr Martini bikes in Italy, the Honda looks almost like a retro concept bike, such as is the level of quality finish on the flat tracker.

The 'XM' as it's called is powered by a 600cc single-cylinder engine that has been given a very nice detail job, with features like the pod air filter and custom bent exhaust adding to the bike's style. Nicola Martini, the bike's creator has done a stunningly good job.

Perhaps one of the more eye catching elements of the design is the seat, which has been expertly cut and stitched in a classic ribbed fashion, upholstered all the way to the brake light.

The 1980s Honda XL600's transformation is made complete with new forks, updated wheels, a custom subframe needed for the seat adaptation, and wee little rear fender.

In original spec the XL600 cranked out around 40hp (29kW), so there's every chance the XM cranks out a few more ponies than that.
