Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello navy edition confirmed for Australia

In news sure to excite Top Gun fans, the special navy edition of the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello is coming Down Under

Moto Guzzi’s local arm has confirmed that the limited-edition V100 Mandello Aviazione Navale model is headed for Australian shores in late 2023.

Celebrating the famous brand’s long association with the Italian navy’s aviation division, the Aviazione Navale separates itself from the regular V100 Mandello with a unique paint scheme and special detailing.

The machine is inspired by the F-35B fighter jet and features the Aviazione Navale emblem and the Gruppo Aerei Imbarcati (Carrier-based Aircraft Division) logo. Each bike will have its unit number engraved on the handlebar riser and come with a commemorative plaque and bespoke bike cover.

The Aviazione Navale model on display at the Asia Pacific launch in Malaysia

Limited to just 1913 models worldwide, the exclusive machine is expected to arrive in Australia this October in extremely limited numbers. The number of units signifies the year the Italian navy’s aviation section was founded.

Pricing is yet to be revealed but due to its limited-edition status, punters should expect a premium over the V100 Mandello S, which starts at $32,290 ride away.

The V100 Mandello was launched in Australia last week, while the Aviazione made an appearance at the Asia Pacific launch which ran simultaneously in Malaysia.

Each model is numbered up to 1913

Boasting a 1050cc V-twin engine, the V100 Mandello is the first Moto Guzzi model with liquid-cooling and also features a raft of technology including industry-first electronic aerodynamics. Two regular variants will be available, including the standard model, and an up-spec S model, which adds semi-active suspension and heating.

Moto Guzzi was founded in 1921 in Mandello del Lario by Italian navy pilots Carlo Guzzi, Giorgio Parodi and Giovanni Ravelli. Ravelli was killed in a test flight, prompting the remaining two partners to create the Mandello eagle emblem as a tribute.
