Is it just us, or have there been more tribute bikes, commemoration motorcycles and other sorts of special edition models hitting the streets than usual?
Suzuki's 25-year anniversary edition GSX-R1000 has just arrived in Australia in extremely limited numbers, and the Barry Sheene tribute bike, an insanely powerful monster capable of hitting 320km/h, and now you can add another special edition to the pile, this time from Italian marque Moto Guzzi.
The Guzzi Nevada cruiser has turned 20 years old, which means it should be about ready to land a real job, get rotten drunk four nights a week and potentially crash dad's car.
Moto Guzzi's Nevada Anniversario model will go on sale in Italy in July, making use of the same chassis and powertrain – a 48hp 744cc V-twin – as the standard Nevada, which sells for about $13,990 in Australia.
However, the limited edition Moto Guzzi Nevada Anniversario gets a number of extras, including a newly sculptured seat, chrome-plated pillion handles and brakelight bezel, plus a restyled rear mudguard and side panels.
The Italian motorcycle maker has also added narrower and lower handlebars for a more dynamic riding position and a two-one black/grey colour scheme finished off the Nevada Anniversario.
Unfortunately this classically-styled limited edition cruiser is unlikely to be offered in Australia.
