Thousands of Queenslanders converged on Brisbane’s RNA Showgrounds last weekend (March 21-23) for the inaugural Moto Expo.
The event boasted over 90 exhibitors, which included a huge line-up of manufacturers, supporting products and services. Show goers also experienced interactive activities such as test rides, come and try zones, non-stop entertainment and Saturday night’s Baylisstic Scramble racing program.
Event Organiser Troy Bayliss said he was thrilled with the feedback from both the industry and visitors to Moto Expo.
“Moto Expo was a complete new project for Troy Bayliss Events,” Bayliss said. “Our plan was to create a market leading motorcycle exhibition that would showcase the industry in the best way possible.
“We had a great mix of demonstrations and test zones that accompanied the excellent trade stands and it brought the show to life just like we had intended.
“I want to thank all the exhibitors, visitors and industry peers who supported the event, bring on Melbourne Moot Expo.
Yamaha, BMW, Ducati, Triumph, Harley-Davidson, Can-Am, Vespa and Victory all used the event to unveil 13 brand new motorcycles to the Australian market for the first time.
Adam Wright, Director of Marketing for Harley-Davidson Australia, said. “The 2014 Moto Expo was an unprecedented success for Harley-Davidson,” Wright said. “We’re thrilled to have had the opportunity to debut our three new models – the new Low Rider, SuperLow 1200T and Street Bob Special – to such a receptive crowd and showcase everything Harley-Davidson has to offer to our loyal fans in Queensland.
“Our aim for Moto Expo was to provide an unparalleled customer experience, offering demo rides of our entire 2014 model range – as well as the H-D JumpStart which welcomed everyone at the show to have a go at zipping through the gears on a real Harley-Davidson motorcycle. “
Over 9000 people packed the grandstands to witness the Baylisstic Scramble, a flat track event that saw a number of motorcycle racing superstars such as Jason Crump, Stephen Gall, Chris Vermeulen, Garry McCoy and Bayliss himself sprinkled across the five teams. The ‘green’ team of Paul Caslick, Nick Durmisov, Matt Davies and Grant Charnock won the Baylisstic Scramble, while three-time world speedway champion Crump also cut some demonstration during the evening.
