Moss and Monea for Kawasaki

The pair will ride KX450Fs in the MX1 class, with Moss replacing Jay Marmont in the distributor-based operation

Kawasaki has signed Adam Monea and Jake Moss for its 2014 Australian motocross and supercross assault. Moss has replaced the departed Jay Marmont, while Monea is into his second season with the Japanese manufacturer. The pair will ride the KX450F.

Fresh from his second place overall finish in the 2013 Australian Supercross Championship, Moss joins Kawasaki in form. And he is no stranger to the KX450F, with the 2007 Australian 250 motocross champion deputizing for the injured Ryan Villopoto in the 2009 AMA Motocross Championship when he came away with two second places.

“I actually had an offer to ride for a team in the USA in 2014, but to be honest I’d rather ride a Kawasaki here in Australia,” said Moss. “I had one ride of Adam’s KX450F and pretty much gelled with it straight away and that’s pretty unique.

It normally takes months and months to get something that you like so for me to like it straight away is a massive head start for me and the team. I’m really looking forward to racing with Kawasaki in 2014.”

The 10-round 2014 Monster Energy MX Nationals kicks off at Broadford (Vic) on March 30.
