CDR Yamaha’s Kade Mosig won both motos to dominate round nine of the 2015 MX Nationals in Toowoomba, Qld on Auguts 23.
With Mosig in such fine form, any aspirations of KTM's Kirk Gibbs wrapping up the MX1 title were put on ice. Gibbs, who finished fourth overall in Toowoomba, sits on 589pts with one round to go, from Mosig (528), Luke Styke (KTM, 518), Adam Monea (Kawasaki, 513) and Lawson Bopping (Yamaha, 471).
"This is an awesome feeling — that last lap in that final moto I got a massive rush and just kept thinking that this is exactly what we've been working for all year," said Mosig. "It's been a long road to get to this point, so it's awesome to give back to my team and everyone who supports me.
"The experience at CDR is definitely rubbing off on me, and it's making days like this seem a lot easier these days. They have given me an awesome bike to ride on and I can't thank them enough."
Monea (60pts) was second overall in round nine, from New Zealander Ben Townley (Penrite Honda, 58), Gibbs (56) and Styke (53).
In MX2, JCR Yamaha’s Jay Wilson claimed his first overall victory and further extended his championship lead, which is now 21pts over defending champion Luke Clout (Serco Yamaha). Kawasaki's Takeshi Katsuya (500pts) is third in the standings.
GYTR Yamaha’s Wilson Todd leas the MXD standings by 22pts.
