As more and more motorcycle and scooter companies begin importing product into Australia, motorcyclists are increasingly spoiled for choice, and the new V5 model is one of the few automatic motorcycles on offer in this country.
Mojo Scooter Co has put together an intriguing two-wheeled vehicle, the V5, which combines the style and ergonomics of a lightweight cruiser with the ease of use of a scooter.
Priced at $3990 (not including government and delivery charges), the new moto-scooter is powered by a 244cc liquid-cooled four-stroke engine hooked up to a CVT "Twist and Go" automatic transmission.
The single-cylinder engine cranks out 14hp at 7500rpm and the bike weighs a total of 165kg dry.
Front suspension comprises hydraulic telescopic forks and at the rear is a dual shock system and bike's overall length is 2200mm.
The Mojo Scooter Co reckons the new model is highly anticipated, and it's "unique blend of modern cruiser styling and scooter like operation should make it a winner in the commuter and learner market."
Some of the other features of the Mojo V5 include front and rear disc brakes, a low seat height of 710mm and even a radio and MP3 audio system. It also comes with foot rests as opposed to pegs.
A spokesman from Mojo Scooter Co had this to say: "The V5 has for many years been a success in both the US and European markets. A fully automatic 250cc motorcycle is a new concept to Australia however we are confident that this model has what is required to make it a success."
The V5 comes with a two year warranty and is available with optional panniers and a rear top box. Colour choices are limited to black and silver.
Mojo Scooter Co's V5 is the kind of motorcycle that could appeal to scooter riders keen to upgrade to a motorcycle, and with keen price point it could do exactly that.
