Australia's Mat Mladin has continued his absolute domination over the 2009 American Superbike Championship with yet another clean sweep, this time at Barber Motorsports Park in central Alabama.
After victory in race one on Saturday, not even wild weather on Sunday - tornado warnings were issued - could contain the Aussie, who has now won seven races in a row on his Yoshimura Suzuki.
Mladin now leads teammate Tommy Hayden by 77pts after seven of 20 rounds, and is already well on his way to an eighth AMA superbike title.
Mladin now has 79 career AMA wins, moving him closer to Miguel Duhamel's record of 86, which he will eclipse in 2009 at his current rate of form.
"I've had seven in a row, and obviously nobody has had any more than seven before so we'll see if we can go to Infineon and get another one," said Mladin. "The bike worked great today, we found some stuff out this morning in the warm-up.
"I had a completely different motorcycle this afternoon and very similar lap times to what I did this morning even with the condition of the track. It was pretty good. I'm pretty happy with the bike. We definitely made some progress this week."
Mladin was followed home by teammates in both superbike races - Blake Young and Aaron Young respectively. Ben Bostrom (Yamaha) was third both times.
Australian David Anthony (Suzuki) was 11th and 10th, while Aaron Gobert took his Honda to 17-13 finishes.
