Victorian Daniel Milner (Yamaha) claimed outright victory at round six of the Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) in Corner Inlet (Vic) on May 26, and now leads the overall standings by 10pts over KTM’s Chris Hollis.
“I’m super stoked to take my first AORC round win of the season,” 22-year-old Milner said. “I feel it’s a huge achievement to win a round and it’s certainly a good way to take the lead of the championship.
“All-in-all I had a great weekend. I won all six tests today, despite stalling it in the first test. It gives me a lot of confidence going into the next rounds at South Australia.
“Hopefully I’ll just keep this momentum going and stay strong and consistent to keep my spot at the top of the leader board.”
Milner also won his E1 class today, as Yamaha dominated across the board with Josh Green the boss cocky in E2 and AJ Roberts doing the business in E3.
In Saturday’s round five, Green was the overall winner in the three-hour cross-country race from Glenn Kearney (Husqvarna) and Milner. It was Green’s maiden win in the AORC.
“This is a pretty big achievement for me,” Green said. “I’ve fought for this for a long time.
“I’m getting more and more comfortable on the WR450F and we’ve been doing some testing and making a few small adjustments from stock, which have helped a lot.
“It was a very demanding, challenging race today. My hands are badly blistered and we all pumped up really badly [in our arms] at the beginning of the race.
