Yamaha’s defending champion Daniel Milner has moved into the Australian Off-Road Championship lead after a dominating performance at rounds three and in Boyland (Qld) over the Easter weekend.
Milner (pictured) came out all guns blazing at the double header round, and in hot and dusty conditions won both rounds on his YZ450F – as well as E2 class honours – ahead of KTM’s Toby Price. Glenn Kearney (Husqvarna) and Josh Green (Yamaha) were third on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Milner now leads the 10-round championship on 85 points, ahead of Kearney (74), Green (70), Price (69), Lachlan Stanford (Husqvarna, 62), Chris Hollis (Yamaha, 61) and Jarrod Bewley (Husaberg, 59).
“The weekend went well and pretty much drama free. It looked moist and loamy when we first rocked up but it was dry and dusty underneath making conditions difficult at times,” Milner said.
“My riding and training in between rounds two and three had been good and I spent a bit of time riding with some good young motocross guys in Victoria and I think that helped my speed it the special tests.”
Rounds five and six will take place in Hedley (Vic) on May 3-4.
