Miller second in Moto3 testing

The Australian's dazzling pre-season has continued at Valencia, as he went fastest on the final day of a three-day test, and was second overall

Queenslander Jack Miller’s excellent build-up to the 2014 Moto3 season opener in Qatar from March 21-23 has continued, finishing with the second fastest time on his factory KTM in a three-day test at Valencia from November 11-13.

Miller’s best lap time was a 1:39.462, marginally behind Niccolo Antonelli (KTM, 1:39.454), and in front of class returnee Danny Webb (Husqvarna, 1:39.726) and Romano Fenati (KTM, 1:39.885).

Australia’s second rider, Adelaide’s Arthur Sissis, was 12th overall (1:40.409) on his Mahindra machine.

In Moto2, Australia’s Anthony West (Speed Up) was 16th overall with a best lap of 1:36.534), but only 1.379 seconds adrift of pacesetter Esteve Rabat (Kalex, 1:35.155).

Last year’s Moto3 world champion Maverick Vinales (Kalex, 1:35.302) was ultra impressive in second overall from Takaaki Nakagami (Kalex, 1:35.337). Reigning world supersport champing Sam Lowes was 12th fastest.

A second round of official tests will be held at Jerez next week.
