Mightier Megelli

Megelli has updated its stylish 250r sports bike, with the bike now sporting a punchier, liquid-cooled powerplant

An updated version of Megelli’s 250r sports bike has now hit Aussie showrooms, and headlining the changes is a new liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, said to raise power and torque to 27hp (20kW) and 22Nm respectively.

In addition to the new powerplant, the next-gen model boasts new brake calipers front and rear, plus improved switchgear, a new electronic ignition, and an updated chain drive.

The new model retails for $5250 plus ORC – just $260 more than the model it replaces – and word on the grapevine is that a special limited-edition version is also in the pipeline.

With Euro styling for a budget price, the Megelli 250r has made quite an impact on Australia’s 250cc class since it was first released, registering 175 sales over the first six months of 2010.
