MV Agusta to build Superveloce 800

The big hit of last year’s EICMA will now be a production reality

MV Agusta is about to start making production versions of the standout concept bike shown at the 2018 EICMA show.

The Superveloce 800 concept was touted as a preview of the production machine and the Italian bike maker has stayed true to the promise.

The concept's looks and top-shelf componentry have been directly transferred to the for-sale version in what MV Agusta calls "a comination of 1970s flair and state-of-the-art technology".

Officially known as the MV Agusta Superveloce 800 Serie Oro, the bike is powered by an 800cc triple-cylinder engine developing 148hp (110kw).

The bike boasts a TFT dash and ride-by-wire throttle with multiple riding mode and traction control settlings.

MV Agusta chief executive Timor Sardanov says the Superveloce is one of the meanest bikes the company has built.

"From the moment it went on display at EICMA last November, we knew we had an instant classic," he notes.

Wannabe buyers can pre-order their machines through an official portal.
