It's been a long wait, but the Melbourne leg of the Australian Motorcycle Expo will return later this year on November 26-28 at the Convention and Exhibition Centre.
By then, it will have been two years since the expo was last in Melbourne, following an annoucement in May 2009 that the Sydney and Melbourne expos would now be held on alternate years - just like the car fraternity.
Melbourne was the first to miss out last year, but is back on in 2010 with a number of new features such as the addition of the Australian Scooter Festival and Australian PWC Show.
"Preparations for the event are gaining momentum on a number of levels," said event manager Mark Petersen from Exhibitions and Trade Fairs.
"We have had an incredibly strong response from the industry rushing to secure exhibition space with over 60 per cent sold to date, as well some hints from major manufacturers that some very exciting new bikes will be freighted direct from EICMA (trade show in Milan from November 2-7).
"The addition of dedicated scooter and PWC displays will make for our biggest Australian Motorcycle Expo Melbourne yet."
Other attractions will include freestyle and mini bike displays, the East Coast Custom Australian Custom Bike Championship, and visitors will also get the chance to enter the competition to win a $40,000 custom chopper.

The website will also provide visitors the opportunity to pre-purchase their entry tickets to the event.
