The recent Birmingham Motorcycle Show was chosen for the launch of a new British brand, called Megelli.
It launched with a range of three 125cc machines - a motard, naked and sports machine - all based on the same SOHC powerplant, built by SYM in Taiwan.
Performance is a claimed 11 horses at 8500rpm and 9.0Nm at 7500rpm.
Starting is electric and there's a five-speed transmission.
In fact, some 75% of the componentry is from Taiwan, though the styling and engineering of the overall package is British.
Megelli will start selling the machines in December, and promises a 50cc range in the Northern Spring.
Prices for the 125 range are expected to be in the region of $4000.
