McGuinness to ride RC213V-S at Goodwood

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is always full of memorable highlights, and one of the biggest in 2015 will be the appearance of Honda's MotoGP replica machine, the RC213V-S, at the four-day event (June 25-28) which will feature a combined 85 motorcycle racing world championships.

Australia's Casey Stoner (pictured) ran a few demonstration laps on the RC213V-S (more details HERE) at the recent Catalunya MotoGP round, but at Goodwood the machine—which has been confirmed as coming to Australia—will be ridden by Isle of Man hero John McGuinness as well as current Honda MotoGP rider Scott Redding.
Stoner will be at the event mind you, but instead he'll be riding a full biscuit RC213V MotoGP bike, while the likes of Redding and Valentino Rossi (YZR-M1) will make a beeline across from Assen after their MotoGP commitments conclude on Saturday afternoon.

Australia's double world superbike champion Troy Corser will also be at Goodwood on a 1966 model BMW Motorrad R 50 S, while Jason O'Halloran will ride his current British superbike CBR1000RR.

Other modern day racers in attendance include runaway 2015 world superbike leader Jonathan Rea on Kawasaki's supercharged H2R, Leon Haslam (Aprilia RSV4 RF), Chaz Davies (Ducati Panigale R) and multiple world speedway champion Greg Hancock (Stuha-GM). Trials legend Dougie Lampkin will also be on location.

The incomparable Giacomo Agostini is back, and he'll take a classic (1969 MV Agusta 500) and modern (2015 MV Agusta 1000 F4) route, and other legends will include John Surtees (1955 Norton F-type Experimental Prototype), Freddie Spencer (1984-85 Honda NSR500s), Jim Redman (1971 Honda CR750), Phil Read (2015 Norton Dominator SS), and Kenny Roberts Snr (1980 Yamaha OW48R YZR500).

Roberts will be a part of a special 60 years of Yamaha celebration, and he will also take a spin up the hill on the 2004 Proton KRV5 XM2 in the modern race bikes class.
