Can-Am’s Maverick X3 Max side-by-side vehicle has been awarded ‘Gold’ status in the 2018 Good Design Australia awards.
The MAX is the four-seat version of the two-seat Maverick X3 which Bikesales first drove in Mexico in 2016, complete with the same design, handling and power characteristics.
The MAX joins 71 other disparate winners in the Gold category, ranging from a vacuum cleaner to a hammer drill, basin mixer and electric corkscrew. The list also includes the Ubco 2 x 2 electric bike. To check out all the winners, click here.
Back to the Maverick X3 MAX…. All four seats in the machine are adjustable, and BRP claims up to 18 per cent more seat pitch than the closest industry competitor for legroom.
There's "Trophy truck-inspired" four-link TTX rear suspension and recalibrated FOX shocks. Front arched A-arms provide up to 356mm of ground clearance, while a full skid plate protects the underside of the vehicle. The MAX has a high-rigidity steel chassis.
The Maverick X3 MAX has a 3429mm wheelbase, and there's power steering, selectable driving modes and 262mm front disc brakes.
It’s powered by the 154hp turbocharged and intercooled inline triple-cylinder Rotax ACE engine.
As well as the gong for the Maverick X3 MAX, the Maverick Trail was also acknowledged in the Good Design Award.
