Australian Steve Martin is yet to blot his 2009 world endurance title copybook, after winning the Albacete eight-hour in Spain this weekend.
Martin and his two teammates, Gwen Giabbani and Igor Jerman, completed 292 on laps on their Michelin-shod Yamaha Austria Racing Team (YART) YZF-R1, with Folch Endurance (Yamaha) second from T.18 Sapeurs-Pompiers (Suzuki).
Australian siblings Alex and Damian Cudlin were fifth on their Phase One Yamaha.
The race started at 6.00pm at Saturday in sweltering 38-degree heat, and concluded at 2.00am.
YART has now won all three world endurance rounds in 2009, but it's likely to hit a major brick wall at the Suzuka 8 Hours on July 26 where all the Japanese marques enter factory-backed teams.
Still, YART hasn't yet put a foot wrong, and at the halfway mark in the six-round championship is leading by a massive 48pts.
The last Australian to win a world endurance title was Warwick Nowland in 2002.
