Make-over for Speed Trip

Bigger brakes for naked blaster

Triumph's Speed Triple has been subjected to a fairly serious make-over for the 2008 model year. Most obvious are a host of restyling touches (including wheels) to give the machine a more integrated look, but the alterations are more than skin deep.

Among the big-ticket items are new Brembo radial mount brakes up front, promising better feel and power, while the back end of the bike, including the rear subframe has been reworked as part of an effort to make the bike more pillion-friendly.

The powerplant remains much as before, claiming a lively 131 horses at 9250rpm and 105Nm at 7550.

Due to arrive here in late March, it's priced at $15,990 plus ORC.
