The die has been cast -- Australian daredevil Robbie Maddison simply cannot relax on New Year's Eve over a quiet beer and some cheese and dip.
Last year, the 27-year-old from Kiama (NSW) broke the Guinness World Records with a massive 98m leap over a football field on his Honda CR500, and this year he'll follow that up with another daring routine.
Returning to Las Vegas, in a show called Red Bull: New Year. No Limits, Maddison will attempt to jump his bike more than 38m high and land on the top of the 27m high and 12m deep replica Arc de Triomphe in front of Paris Las Vegas.
He will then drop off and freefall 15m to a massive landing ramp below.
If he makes any mistakes, it will be caught live by ESPN and beamed to millions of viewers. And the freestyle star isn't overly confident.
"I had some doubts last year whether or not I could jump a football field," said Maddison. "But as I practiced, I got more and more confident and realised I could pull it off; and I did, twice.
"This year, the doubts are way bigger. The jump has never been done before, but I'm confident in my ability and I believe that as I start training, the dream that seems impossible will become a reality."
Maddison has already begun practicing just north of Los Angeles for the big jump.
