The event was the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour, the place was Giza in Egypt, and in front of a 10,000 strong crowd Adam Jones from the USA took out the second round of the tour.
Arguably the world's premier freestyle motocross tour, the competition is incredibly strong, with the world's best FMX riders vying for supremacy.
With the Great Sphinx of Giza looking over the event in Egypt, Australian Robbie Maddison managed a credible fourth place after coming third in the previous event in Mexico.
Second place went to Norway's Andrè Villa (winner of the first round) and third place was taken by another American, Nate Adams.
The weekend's conditions weren't favourable, with dry desert winds carrying lots of sand and 40 degree heat taking the stuffing out of man and machine. "The conditions in Cairo weren't easy, but my final run was perfect, and that meant the judges were then on my side," said a victorious Adam Jones.
"This really is a dream come true for me," grinned the 26-year-old.
All competitors agreed that to perform during a warm evening in Egypt in front of the Sphinx was an incredible experience. Next up the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour will travel to Moscow's Red Square in Russia, on June 26.
