Freestyle motocrosser and now world motorcycle jump record holder Robbie Maddison says he wants to break the 98.33 metre (322 feet) record he set in Las Vegas on New Year’s eve.
He chose the length because it was significantly over the old one (by 12 metres) and happened to be the length of an American gridiron field. He completed the jump with relative ease, twice on the same night.
The new ambition is to reach 400 feet or 121 metres.
Whatever the distance, he will be making the jump on 29 March, in Melbourne as part of the Crusty Demons tour.
Maddison told media in Las Vegas, "I know I can go further than tonight. I wasn't going to show my full hand before March 29.
"There is definitely more left in the tank and I believe, with the support of the Aussie crowd and the awesome facilities being constructed, I will be able to nudge the 340 feet (104m) mark."
