Maddison backflips over Tower Bridge in London

And still the pyramids and Great Wall to go

Robbie Maddison has soared 22m above the Thames, adding to the Australian’s burgeoning catalogue of spectacular jumps.

Maddison used the famous Tower Bridge as a takeoff and landing ramp for his backflip, executing the feat to perfection.

“I have been thinking about this jump for years,” said Maddison. Over the last few months we’ve taken a really close look at each area of Tower Bridge.

“This time we were only on it for a few minutes, so everything had to be exactly right first time – we only had one chance to do it. It was an incredible feeling to fly between the two towers and over the Thames.”

Maddison’s previous stunts include jumping an American football field (106.9m), and bringing in the last New Year’s eve with a huge 25.5m step-up jump onto the roof of the Arc de Triomphe Hotel in Las Vegas. And Maddo promises there’s more to come.

“Egypt has pyramids and there is the Great Wall, so I’m just looking at continuing what I’m doing, setting more goals and having fun.”

Maddison will return to London on August 22 to take part in the final stop of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour.
