MA elects new president

Western Australia Tania Lawrence succeeds Braxton Laine after the massive changes that have swept through the governing body after the 'Whole of Sport Review'

The nation's national governing body for motorcycle racing, Motorcycling Australia (MA), has a new president and chair, Tania Lawrence.

Lawrence is the first Western Australian elected to the role of president in the history of MA, and the first woman to the role.

Lawrence brings a wealth of government and business experience to MA, currently managing global business integration at Woodside Energy Ltd.

The new MA Board consists of four elected professionals, with Lawrence joined by Victorian pair John Bolitho and Leanne Knowles and New South Welshman Michael Strano. The four have now assumed their roles, meeting in Melbourne on August 9-10 for the first time alongside senior MA management.

Nominees for the three remaining independent Board positions are now being considered, and the successful applicants will be announced soon.
