The CEO of Motorcycling Australia, David White, believes his election as a Vice-President of the FIM is a reflection of just how well his organisation is viewed within the global governing body.
White was elected as one of three new Vice-Presidents at the 125th FIM Congress, which is being held in Macau this week.
“I think this is a clear indication of the respect shown for Australia, and MA, from within the FIM, and presents us with a great opportunity to have representation at the forefront of international motorcycle affairs,” White said.
“MA in particular is highly regarded internationally because of its development of strategic planning, and having set-up its own insurance company, and I look forward to serving in the position of Vice-President for the next four years.”
A record 98 out of 101 national federations attended the congress, which also saw Qatar’s Nasser Khalifa Al Atya and Portugal’s Jorge Viegas elected to the other Vice-President positions, while Venezuela’s Vito Ippolito was re-elected FIM President.
