Melbourne-based stunt maestro Luke ‘Lukey Luke’ Follachio will be waving an orange flag this year, after signing on with KTM to ride the Austrian marque’s models at events throughout 2013.
One of Australia’s top stunting talents, the 29-year-old will be performing his repertoire of two- and one-wheeled antics aboard a 690 Duke R and a 990 Super Duke R– the smaller-capacity model in tighter environs and the bigger bike where space allows.
In total, Lukey Luke has some 35 shows lined up over the course of this year, including all the Australian Superbike Championship rounds, motorcycle expos in Sydney and Brisbane, the Australian MotoGP round, plus numerous other toy runs, charity events and festivals.
KTM Australia’s National Marketing and Communications Manager, Greg Chambers, said he was thrilled to see the stunt rider sign on. “Having Lukey Luke on board our 990 Super Duke R, which is currently about the hottest street-legal naked bike around, is an exciting opportunity for us,” he said.
Lukey Luke said he was elated to be joining KTM’s ranks. “KTM is an exciting brand in the way it markets itself and the things it does with its athletes,” he said. “I liked that and I wanted to be a part of that, so it was an opportunity to be involved in something fun and uplifting to which I couldn’t say no.
