Luke George comes out of coma

As Cam Sinclair finally returns home

Six days since suffering head injuries in a heavy race fall at Coolum in the final round of the 2009 Australian Motocross Championship, 19-year-old Kawasaki Racing Team rider Luke George is making great progress.

At 4:00pm yesterday, Luke woke from his coma to put his arm around KRT manager Brett Whale.

“I said to Luke, ‘Come on Champion, it’s time to get up. We’ve got supercross testing coming up and you’ve got to go and ride with… in America’,” said Whale.

“Luke then put his arm around me and rubbed my back. It’s absolute gold. I’m just so happy.

“I then told Luke that he’d been lying on his back too long and it was time for him to roll over so I could rub his back and he rolled over.”

Meanwhile, Cam Sinclair is finally back in Australia after his horrific fall at the Red Bull X-Fighters in Madrid on July 17.

Cam arrived home last Tuesday, and was taken straight to a Melbourne hospital for more CT scans and an MRI to make sure the Spanish medical personnel hadn’t missed anything.

He has now walked by himself for the first time, but is still complaining about the numbness in the right side of his body.
