Lower fees for Motorcycling Australia

Rider club promises more for Less

Motorcycling Australia says it has cut the cost of joining its Riders' Division to just $35 pa, at the same time expanding the range of member benefits.

The decision was made to make membership more accessible to more people, and, says Riders' Division Manager Dan Rotman, "We understand the power of the strength in numbers that will give motorcyclists."

"The American Motorcyclists Association, our counterpart in the States, is looking to break through the 300,000 member barrier some time in the next year or so. They are able to effectively lobby Government on behalf of motorcyclists through the sheer weight of numbers."

"We believe that our current membership of close to 25,000 is the ideal base from which to influence Governments to ensure motorcyclists are not treated any worse than other road users."

"More members equals more influence."

Key benefits include 15% off bike insurance, roadside assistance and discounts on accommodation.

Existing Riders' Division members will have their membership doubled under the new pricing arrangements.

As well, new and renewing Motorcycling Australia Riders' Division members stand to win a copy of the Barry Sheene Story DVD set.
