Low-friction powerplant?

Honda has announced it is researching a low-friction four stroke engine, after dropping two-strokes from its range

The chief aim is fuel economy, which the company claims has dropped by over 30 per cent across its two-wheeler range in the last decade.

The powerplant is 100-125cc, which the company says is the largest-selling segment in the world, and presumably will be seen in scooters plus manual motorcycles. Honda reckons it can reduce internal friction "completely" and, in tandem with a twin sparkplug head, gain a 13 per cent reduction in fuel consumption.
